GiftAMeal is now partnered with the Missouri Restaurant Association and is on a hiring streak.
“We’re giving a custom discount to the Missouri Restaurant Association members, so it’s like an extra perk for them,” CEO Andrew Glantz told the 4thEst8. “That’ll help us get our foot in the door with these restaurants and really expand our reach.”
GiftAMeal is a for-profit marketing company with a socially conscious mission. Through it’s free mobile app users take a photo of their order at a GiftAMeal partner restaurant. For every post to social media, GiftAMeal makes a donation to a local food bank to cover a meal for someone in need. GiftAMeal partners pay a monthly subscription, partly for the marketing aspect of the service and partly to support the food bank effort.
Hiring!
The St. Louis startup hired Restaurant Relationship Manager Justine Ruble who landed Taytro’s in Festus, Mo. as her first account just this week. Glantz says two summer interns just came on board from the Skandalaris Entrepreneurship Program at Washington University and the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. Both are working out of the Cortex complex of St. Louis.
4thEst8 readers last heard from Glantz in March when GiftAMeal was hired by it’s first chain restaurant, which also put them into the Kansas City market.
“Our partnership with Lion’s Choice has been a big success with over 5000 meals provided to those in need,” Glantz said. “In the three months we’ve all been very satisfied with how it’s going and are looking forward to growing that partnership.”
Prior to the Lion’s Choice deal GiftAMeal claimed 215 restaurant partners and 40,000 app users, providing more than 580,000 meals to those in need – a number Glantz says now tops 655,000. According to CrunchBase, since the company was founded in 2014 it has secured three seed rounds totaling $265,000 from Capital Innovators and Sandy Khaund.
