Eiwa just hired Carlos Hirsch as Chief Business Development Officer. Hirsch was head of US sales for Solinftec for the last two and a half years. Eiwa is an imagery analysis company directed at agriculture to predict and model crop behavior for the plant breeding industry.
“They have sales across Argentina, Brazil, and the United States,” Eiwa board member and Cultivation Capital general partner Kyle Welborn told the 4thEst8. “Carlos will help them grow their U.S. business.”
Eiwa uses a combination of drones, field-level imagery, and computer vision.
Founded in 2013 the company is headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina. According to CrunchBase the company picked up a pre-seed round in 2018, followed by a seed round in 2018 – neither of which were disclosed. According to AgFunder News the company has raised $1.5 million, but it’s unclear if that report relates to either, both, or neither round mentioned by CrunchBase. Its main clients are Syngenta and DowDuPont. Known investors include GLOCAL and The Yield Lab Latin America. CEO Nicolas Otamendi and Carlos Hirsch were both approached for comment for this article.
Hirsh is located in St. Louis, Mo. His last employer, Solinftec, develops hardware, software and mobile applications for digital agriculture especially the sugar, ethanol, grain and cotton markets.
