GEOINT 2021 was all about the big players in the geospatial intelligence industry, but if you looked really hard — and waded through the sea of billion dollar tech companies — there was one hour set aside during the week long event that featured actual tech startups. And St. Louis tech and business leadership stepped up to talk about what they’re doing to foster growth in these companies, something all of the tech founders told the 4thEst8 they were grateful for.
But, and this has to be said (so we’re going to!) none of the startups had a booth or display at this trade show. The 4thEst8 asked a couple of founders why, and they said the cost of booths was way out of their meager marketing budgets. Yes, STLmade afforded these startups the ability to hang out at the St. Louis booth, and they all got a few minutes to pitch their ideas before an audience, but there was no literature or signage displayed anywhere in this trade show for the startups that everyone in the state is pinning their hopes on for 10Xing their businesses, hiring a bunch of people, and boosting our economy.
