2021 Arch Grants winner and CEO of hardware startup Erkios Systems, Sean Null announced on LinkedIn that he has started a block-chain company.

His profile lists him as founder of Apex Meta Group, a company launched in December, 2021 but running concurrently with his CEO job of five years at Erkios.

“We built a vast blockchain XR gaming ecosystem where our community owns and directs the gaming experience,” Null says in his profile post. He did not return a request for an interview.

Non-fungible token sale platform OpenSea has a marketplace page for the Apex Meta Group, offering digital assets depicting apes wearing sci-fi apparel and claiming to be the “future of XR metaverse gaming.” The OpenSea page has the same name and similar verbiage as what Null uses in his LinkedIn description, but the 4thEst8 was unable to verify or refute ownership at the time of publication.   (XR stands for ‘extended reality’, a term that encompasses augmented, virtual and mixed reality.)

Erkios Systems, founded in February 2017, has a patented port security device to provide a physical communication security layer to computers as well as automated monitoring. Erkios is part of the 2021 Arch Grants cohort, and hails from Kansas City, Mo.
