Three-person startup Love Lifesciences is a semi-finalist in the April 6 ‘Get Started’ pitch competition in Omaha, hosted by Husch Blackwell. Top prize is $25,000.

“They have five separate groups of business types, such as healthcare and education,” CEO Nick Love told the 4thEst8. “The top company of each of those five groups pitch in front of the entire… committee and judges.”
The startup is developing a series of safety injection devices to prevent needle-stick and dosing error, as well as an improved injection experience for those self administering medications. Love and co-founder CTO Bradley Hopper recently completed the research and development phase on a single use device and are starting to have some made so they can be used in FDA testing.
Love Lifesciences landed a $25,000 grant from the Kansas Department of Commerce’s KITE Proof of Concept program. The innovation and commercialization incentive from the state is designed to fill the funding gap between the Federal SBIR research grant and commercial seed funding.
The Kansas City company launched in October of 2020.
