International Proof Systems, a systems design and development firm, has applied for an SBIR grant to help with the R&D behind its solution to the spread of disease at the gas pump, something they’re calling ‘Protected Touch.”
“Our mission is to improve antiquated processes and systems, through advanced technology,” CEO Rachel Hankerson told the 4thEst8. She’s also applied for a patent on the barrier technology. “We are waiting for an answer from SBIR reviewers.”
Lawyers
The first product in IPS’s pipeline is catching on, but not the way Hankerson had planned. It’s a smart license plate system the company calls the Proof Smart Tag System. She presented her patented technology to many departments of motor vehicles.
“Unfortunately those customers chose other companies to implement our solution,” Hankerson said. “My team is first to patent. … One of my competitors was able to present my technology to other states and raise $24-million on my technology. We’re still trying to fight to claim what belongs to me… the objective of my technology is to build my company.”
New VR platform
Meanwhile, IPS is working on other products in their pipeline. Illusion is a virtual reality platform aimed at remote learning.
“It takes the faculty and students back to school, in a virtual world,” Hankerson said.
The company was founded in 2013, is headquartered in the city of St. Louis at T-Rex and has three full time employees.
