The Trucking Fitness Company just landed Nationwide Insurance as a channel partner to get it’s health app in front of more customers. At the same time it rebrands as Supply Chain Fitness.

Mark Manera, The Trucking Fitness Co. founder

“Nationwide obviously has insurance all over the place, but one of their departments and really large verticals is on the commercial side of things, ensuring the semi-trucks and the cargo that the semi-trucks are moving across the country,” CEO Mark Manera told bizblip. “They were looking for ways to mitigate risk and create safer drivers… a vice president of risk management… reached out to me from LinkedIn.”

Manera has a background in physical therapy and as a student he found that over the road truck drivers are among the most ‘at risk’ workers due to weight, lack of exercise and diabetes… something that costs the industry billions of dollars and personally impacts the workers. His app tracks exercise and nutrition, offering workers good options for both while they are on the road. Through partner companies he offers workers discounted access to his app as a payroll deduction. The company launched into its paid-Beta in the spring of 2021 with trucking company partners including Keller Logistics Group, Skelton Truck Lines and K&J Trucking. But the Nationwide deal eclipses all prior channel partners.

“They are huge. This is a big leap and a really big opportunity for Supply Chain Fitness,” Manera said of the partnership. As for the re-brand “A lot of companies… wanted something driver-centric… but that could be for everyone at the organization and help everyone speak the same language and create a culture of health and fitness. Trucking is still our ‘bread and butter’ but now we have programs for office staff, warehouse and shop mechanics and are creating a full circle of health and fitness for a trucking and logistics organization.”

Founded in July 2020 the company has two full time employees and is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.
