Opening its doors in June of 2020, Realto of Overland Park, KS shot to seven full time employees a year ago — and stands at 11 today with the hiring of Kate O’Neill Rauber for the newly created role VP of Communications.
“Whether it’s media outlets talking about us, or it’s how we talk about ourselves, or allowing other people to use their platforms to help us talk about ourselves, it’s all about being able to better tell our story,” CEO Brian King told bizblip. “We do have a sales team, they’re actively out in the field telling our story every day, but what we really want to be able to do to ramp up growth is to be able to find ways to share our story exponentially, and I think (Kate) in this particular role, will really be able to help.”
Realto is a platform to broker the sale of things that are otherwise difficult to sell, loosely called ‘alternative investments’ – essentially any asset class EXCEPT stocks, bonds and cash.
King says a previously announced $4.5M seed round from May of this year actually topped $5M when all was said and done. That round was led by Firebrand Ventures with KC Rise Fund participating. In 2020 the startup closed a $3.5M pre-seed round from Gary Fish and Dunn Construction.
