Karma Trade, an online marketplace that started during pandemic lock down in Central Illinois, is expanding into New York City. Co–founder Mona Fang said the expansion is an important step in the company’s growth, as the company plans to support retailers of unique or one–off goods.
“We are launching in New York City with over 2000 stores on our platform,” said Fang. “For customers, what that means is that you can actually see what‘s in the stores near you. And there‘s millions of products inside of the city alone, that just aren‘t online.”
Karma Trade was founded in March 2021 and is headquartered in Brooklyn, New York. It recieved an undisclosed amount of funding from Backend Capital. It currently has two full–time employees and three part–time employees. Karma Trade offers stores the ability to integrate their physical inventory into their online store, and helps stores photograph their initial products for $1 per item.
“This expansion is an important step for us, as it allows us to reach more customers and help more stores grow their businesses online,” said Fang. “We believe this is the key to our future growth, and we are excited to see what the future holds.”
