Early stage tech startups are fascinating. Before the institutional investors and articles in Wired or Nature, founders with innovative ideas take on the task of growing a business that no one knows anything about, is underfunded and understaffed, and may be more idea than execution. This is where bizblip lives.

bizblip is an independent, ad-free news and information publication covering early stage technology and tech-enabled startups. We deal with a lot of founders, so we started a series of pitch competitions—and it blew up!

Our online pitch competition—Blippy Pitch—gives early stage founders both quantitative and qualitative feedback to help them improve how they convey their value propositions BEFORE getting in front of first customers, potential stakeholders, and investors.

Quantitative example: “WHERE do you lose people who watch your pitch?”

Special thanks to Pool for allowing us to share their viewer data.

Qualitative example: “WHAT do you need to improve?

The feedback comes from bizblip readers (paid and freemium) who vote in a weekly video pitch competition called Blippy Pitch. Win or lose, founders get feedback to see where they can improve. Weekly winners advance to our quarterly in-person competition called Pitches Get Stitches, held in St. Louis, with competitors outside the area competing remotely via Zoom.

Interested seed or pre-seed startup founders (from ideation and MVP to Beta and scale) can email bizblip publisher Paul Riat for instructions about how to join the bizblip Founders Portal. Use the portal to tell us about your startup and share a video. The information you provide us through the portal allows us to initiate news coverage of your startup.
