A quick Google search for ‘Flipstik Target’ turns up dozens of adds for the St. Louis consumer product that uses an adhesive that lets people stick their smart phones to practically any surface. Flipstck is also one of about a dozen Missouri startups headed to the April 6 pitch competition ‘Get Started Omaha.’
“We’re not just on Target.com, we’re in stores,” Flipstik CEO Akeem Shannon told the 4thEst8.
Flipstik CEO Akeem Shannon is no stranger to pitching. He appeared on SharkTank a couple years ago where Lori Greiner offered him $100,000 for 25 percent of his company. No word on whether he took it. Shannon did not return an email requesting interview for this article.
Although it’s for sale on the Target website it may be a few weeks before it’s in stores.
Get Started Omaha hosted by Husch Blackwell invites 30 Midwestern seed-stage startups to compete for $25,000 prizes in five industry tracks, plus people’s choice.
Flipstick was founded in 2017 picked up $50,000 each from Arch Grants and UMSL Accelerate’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Accelerator — both equity free.
