Four early stage startups are selected to pitch to a ‘Shark Tank’ style live pitch competition at the upcoming OPO Startups Demo Day, part of St. Louis Startup Week. The competition will take place November 9, from 5pm to 7pm at the collocated workspace in St. Charles, Mo.
Those startups are:
- Pronto, an RFID monitoring system and self-checkout app for retail.
- Veeper, a Shopify app that applies discounts during checkout.
- EDURain, a platform for college student finances, including bridge loans for housing.
- Todue, a task management platform for remote teams.
“This is my first participation for anything like this for Todue,” CEO and ‘chief builder’ Danny Mullan told the 4thEst8. Mullan has been developing the task management system for the past year. “We’re still developing the Pro and the Team account, but right now you can use it for free.”
Mullan is an active tenant at OPO Startups in St. Charles for a service company he started in the fall of 2019, which funds development of Todue. Mullan is an active participant and leader of Work In Progress, St. Louis – a weekly support group for developers of all kinds. (Full disclosure: 4thEst8 publisher Paul Riat is an active member of wipSTL too. The group can be found on Twitter @wipSTL )
“It’s been helpful to meet with other founders on a weekly basis, to share ideas, give each other help and feedback,” Mullan said. “Probably the most important is it actually keeps you motivated to keep working on your project. I’ve been attending… for probably four to six months and it’s been really fun to share. They were the first group that rally got to see Todue.”
