All startups need money, but what kind and how to get it varies greatly. The program at this week’s Venture Cafe – St. Louis hit up all aspects from grants, banking, factoring and bootstrapping — to juggling operations out of revenues.
The evening launched with BusinessRiff consultant Mary Scott sharing her curated (and comprehensive) list of startup ecosystem resources to a room that was so full VenCaf organizers offered to move the gathering to a bigger one. Scott and Cortex program manager Rikki Henry then threw the meeting open to a free-form problem solving exercise where some founders shared their problems and the two pointed them to resources that can help them get over that next hurdle.
