Fashion design software startup Seamly Systems was accepted into Kentucky’s Launch Blue Accelerator.
“They actually provide people instead of money,” CEO Susan Spencer told bizblip. “I found out about them when I went to the Queen City Angels Entrepreneur Bootcamp earlier this year… I thought it was a really good way to meet the experts that I need , and have their undivided attention for a few weeks to help me with some of the business issues I’m facing.”
The open source fashion design platform is leaning into the technological needs behind trends including ‘fast fashion’, a decentralization of the garment industry, onshoring and virtual fashion for digital avatars. The company claims its initial software suite has been downloaded by 30,000 users in 35 countries.
Seamly Systems was founded in Jan. 2021 in Huntsville Alabama then moved to Paducah, KY as part of the 2021 1st50K cohort. Susan Spencer has been active in several Missouri tech startup ecosystem events, including bizblip’s Founders Only – Summer Camp and the Pitches Get Stitches pitch competition.
