The Washington University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Awards awarded more than $75,000 in non-diluted funding to WashU startups, including recent Blippy Pitch contestant Top Tutors For Us.
“We are one of the ‘launch funding’ winners,” Angelica Houston, CEO, told bizblip. “We were awarded the maximum funding amount, $10,000… it will go towards marketing, branding and development of our mobile app.”
Top Tutors has paying customers for its two-sided marketplace service connecting academic test-prep tutors and students of color.
“The application will allow us to manage the tutors, let them post jobs and manage past jobs as well as onboard,” Houston said. “It will also allow us to track students progress, have students regularly take diagnostic tests and based on their performance, update their lesson plans.”
Top Tutors launches in October, 2022, is headquartered in St. Louis (63108) and has one full time employee as well as four part time… serving more than 130 tutors.
