StockSwap, a gamification app for stock market research, just launched on the App Store and kicked off an influencer campaign.
“We have a lot of good feedback from users who have downloaded the app so far,” Blake Berg, StockSwap CEO told bizblip. “They’re playing games and having a good time.”
StockSwap, which was founded in March 2021, is starting an influencer campaign with a TikTok creator with a half a million followers to promote the app.
The app allows users to enter into a contest with varying entry fees, payout structures and time frames. Players pick five stocks and weight them, and they’re doing social research to find these stocks. Throughout the week, they’re competing with others to get a share of the prize pool.
“Games of skill are not gambling and are allowed in all 50 states.” To date, StockSwap has raised $350,000 — $225,000 from founders, friends, family and users. The startup is also in the 2022 cohort for Capital Innovators, which invested $100,000. It picked up another $25,000 from Villhard Growth Partners, also in 2022. Berg says most of the money raised will go to development, with some going to legal.
