Veeper is one of eight early stage startups awarded $100,000 in the 2021 Render Competition. Render Capital is a $15 million regional fund out of Louisville, Kentucky – and winners are required to relocate to the greater Louisville region for a year.
“It’s really going to help us get to the next stage with our Beta…we’re gonna finish off development,” CEO Jordan Williams told the 4thEst8. “And then we’re actually going to really start implementing our marketing strategies that we’ve been testing for the last few months. We’ll start on-boarding all of our launch partners and be on the road to revenue.”
Veeper is a Shopify app that its founders say solves a problem on that platform with discount codes. They expire and cause retailers to overspend. Veeper’s algorithm applies discounts in real time, giving buyers an incentive to add things to their cart as they shop. The team has a working prototype they tested on 30 stores, where merchants reported an average sales bump of 14%.
The Kansas City (for now) startup launched by Williams, COO Julian Taylor and CTO Mark Neville in July, 2020. Williams tells the 4thEst8 that he’ll move to Louisville while Taylor will remain in Kansas City. The three are full time, with two part time contractors in tow. This weeks funding brings to $140,000 their total, having secured a $20,000 ‘SAFE’ from Dorm Room Fund and a recipient of $20,000 Digital Sandbox Kansas City Grant.
Note: Neville lives in St. Charles, Mo. and is also CTO of the Texas startup Noww.co
