VoteSharp, a political campaign canvassing app, signed clients in Texas – concurrent with a new logo, re-branding and revamped website.

Stephanie Sharp, VoteSharp founder

“We launched the state of Texas last week starting in Travis and Williamson counties,” VoteSharp owner Stephanie Sharp told the 4thEst8. “Texas is a huge state with a ton of voters and a ton of elected officials.”

With a background in political consulting, Sharp launched the VoteSharp app back in 2011, to help candidates and campaign workers better track engagement with their constituents. The app has paid users in Kansas, California, Utah, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Sharp transitioned from consulting to full time with the app early in 2020. She’s the only full time employee, but she has contractors for accounting, development and other services. The company is headquartered in Leawood, KS.

New site, functionality

“The new website really exhibits and explains the CRM constituent and relationship side of the tool, as well as the mapping and canvassing,” Sharp said. “Also, we added a bunch of the marketing tools that everyone uses these days for tracking website experience.”

Sharp says her app has been unaffiliated with any party from the beginning but her site showed off a lot of red because it’s her favorite color – and that had to change.

New logo (with red white AND blue)

“We really wanted to reinforce the concept that this is a voter engagement tool. Red, white and blue gives people the idea of that… patriotism, voting, being engaged in the political process,” she said. “Those are the colors associated with our industry… Democrats see red and they think ‘Republican’ while Republicans see blue and think ‘Democrat’. We wanted to have the logo reflect the true non-partisanship of the tool.”
