Greenfield Robotics made it to the final round of consideration for the Top Tier Impact Awards – and will know if they’ve won by this time tomorrow.

Contenders: WhatIf Foods of Singapore offers alternative protein food products and has raised a Series B; Orbillion Bio of Berkeley, Calif. has raised a seed round for its cultured meat product.
The awards bills itself the “Oscars Ceremony” of global impact. Top Tier awards sustainability-focused companies in funding stages from R&D to Series B across eight sectors:

Founded in 2017, Greenfield Robotics of Cheney, Kansas is making small, autonomous robots that roam fields to pick weeds, eliminating the need for herbicidal chemicals. The company was founded in 2017, has raised under $1 million in seed capital, and is putting its robots into it’s first customer’s fields in the spring of 2021. Its business model is that of a service, essentially contracting to keep down weeds – then moving the robots around to take care of the fields and keep weeds down. It claims a dozen employees.
