Fledgling student startup Xchanger landed a $5,000 grant from Kodiak Ventures, a student run fund on the campus of Washington University, St. Louis. The fund is supported by AWS.
“We’re going to use that to fund our cloud back end as we look to launch products,” CEO Raj Thaker told bizblip. “We are basically finished with the MVP right now and are looking to kind of get that out for testing this summer.”
Using a suggestion algorithm, the Xchanger app will work a lot like a dating app – with users ‘swiping’ left or right according to their interest. The student-run startup launched in Feb. 2022.
“We’re basically trying to create this ‘all-in-one’ financial platform… a personalized investing experience,” Thaker said. “Not only providing… a social media feature where you can just talk about stocks… (but) where you can compete, head-to-head, against investors.”
