In a seed round led by OCA Ventures, Curate raised $1.25M in seed capital to further develop its customer relationship management platform for florists, caterers and other small businesses in the creative space. Also participating are Cultivation Capital, Jim McKelvey (of Square), and Stout Street Capital.

Ryan O’Neil, Curate CEO

In a release, CEO Ryan O’Neil says the money will bring new features to the platform, especially ones to help caterers.  It’ll also go to new hires, doubling the current 32 person headcount in the areas of infrastructure and product development.

The Kirkwood, Mo. company’s software allows creatives to put together work proposals and bids, and manages customer and vendor communication throughout the project.

In addition to this seed round CrunchBase reports a prior seed round of $550,000, for a total of $1.8M since the company’s bootstrapped launch in Dec. 2015. While no figures were released, O’Neil reports a 700 percent revenue jump — year over year — for 2020.
